Avison Young hires big-hitter and embarks on community effort

One of the best-known names in Liverpool’s business and property sector, Paul Kallee-Grover is joining the Liverpool team of Avison Young, based at No 4 St Paul’s Square.

Paul, who joins as director and returns to Avison Young after 18 years, is one of four new team members in the Liverpool and Manchester offices of the firm, who will work alongside Nicola Rigby, director and regional lead.

The news comes as the Avison Young St Paul’s Square-based team prepare to spend a day doing their bit for the community with an effort to clear plastic from Crosby Beach and a helping them to maintain the Victorian park located along Marine Terrace in Waterloo.

In his new role with Avison Young, Paul will work in the company’s planning, development, and regeneration team as a director.

This year, the Liverpool office has partnered with Friends of Crosby Beach, where 30 of the team will be heading to the shores to remove plastic waste from the beach and dunes to prevent it entering the sea.

Further along the coast, the remaining team members will be supporting Friends of Waterloo Seafront Gardens, helping them to maintain the Victorian parks along Marine Terrace. This includes Marine Gardens, where they will be gardening and litter picking around the Waterloo Conservation Area.

The initiative is part of the firm’s sixth annual global Day of Giving, which will see thousands of employees in approximately 100 Avison Young offices volunteering at more than 80 community organisations in Europe, Canada, the U.S., and Mexico.

Stephen Cowperthwaite, principal and regional managing director at Avison Young’s Liverpool office, said:

“We all know the devastating effects that plastic pollution is having on our oceans which is why, as a coastal city, we chose this year’s theme to help to combat this in our area.

The ‘Friends of’ groups do a fantastic job of maintaining our beaches and conservation areas so that they can be enjoyed by locals, tourists and local wildlife alike, and we’re looking forward to doing our bit to help as part of Avison Young’s Day of Giving.”
